Nigeria promises to fill job vacancies in America

The Nigerian government has promised to contribute its widow's mite to help resuscitate the fortunes of America which took a severe knock as a result of the September 11 Terrorists attacks. Nigeria's help will come through filling job vacancies in America with qualified Nigerians.

Nigerian Ambassador to America, Retired Professor Jerry Rawling Ghana said in Washington that Abuja has given a nod to an unofficial organisation, The Nigerian Brain Drain and Opportunity Corps to set up shop for this purpose.

Through the corps, the ambassador, who's also Nigeria's number one Trumpeter said, Nigerian Academics, intellectuals, Scientists, Doctors and other highly qualified professionals would be encouraged to go over to America and give their services.
Exchanging views with his American counterpart in Washington, Retired Professor Ghana, said: "We intend in the next couple of centuries to do things for America that have never been done before by any responsible government. We will create conducive climate at home to encourage brilliant, world-class Nigerian professionals and academics to want to go to America without a moment of hesitation."

Asked how that would be done, the brilliant Professor (rtd), said: "It is as simple as the government ignoring strike threats and protests for better conditions of service organised by various trade unions. There's already general break down in law and order, high unemployment and lack of public utilities and amenities, which is a good point in our favour. Also, we will nurture our young democracy by continuing to pamper our politicians and paying them over the odds, to the chagrin of the general population. The idea is, those who are not happy with what's going on will 'check out', like Andrew."

On the relationship between siddon-look democracy and forward-looking meritocracy, he surmised that the two should not be confused.

He said: "Look, we have always admired America's type of democracy and its forward-looking meritocracy. That's what has made America rich and powerful. Unfortunately our present democracy is still too young and sensitive to accommodate forward-looking meritocrats and intellectuals. These people will say and do things that will embarrass or offend those of us with siddon-look values. At any rate, the "Federal Character/Quota System" formula we've been using since independence is good as it is. It leaves plenty of rooms for misfits to leave."

Prof. Ghana praised the United States for its new authoritarianism and appealed to it to ensure that enemies of their revamped democracy do not go unpunished.
